Japanese restaurant Itsu announces the opening of the first ever Scottish branch this month

Scotland’s capital is set to become the home of the country’s first-ever Itsu restaurant, creating 30 jobs for the local community.

The popular Asian-inspired brand has announced that it will officially open a branch in Edinburgh later this month – the first of three planned Scottish branches.

Fans will be able to try the new restaurant as a weekend treat when it officially opens on Friday, March 25.

Itsu is a global brand that already operates many branches around the world, as well as groceries that you can find on the shelves of your local supermarkets.

The new branch will be located in the newly opened St James Quarter Lifestyle District and will feature an economy menu offering healthy East Asian-inspired dishes.

This will be the very first Itsu branch in the country

With prices starting from under £7 per dish, fans can try a range of Asian-inspired dishes for less, including sushi, dumplings, bao, hot noodles and rice bowls.

Before the official opening of the doors of the Edinburgh branch, the brand invited its neighbors to participate in a “first look” lunch on Thursday March 24, between 12 noon and 1 p.m.

The first 500 visitors will receive fan-favorite dishes such as the Sushi Festival, Vegetarian Sushi Collection, and Chicken Klean’katsu Rice Bowl for free.

And that’s not all, as Scottish students can have a chance to win a semester’s worth of free Itsu food.

Students are encouraged to share their best photos of the new Itsu restaurant on social media in their first ever ‘Snap and Share’ contest.

Itsu’s Chief Customer Officer commented: “We are looking forward to opening our first restaurant in Scotland in the St James area.

Our range of itsu supermarkets are already selling a record number of pots of noodles in Edinburgh, so we are delighted to offer even more freshly prepared hot noodle dishes, packed with vegetables and protein in our brand new purpose-built restaurant. . »
