Bosses have published an announcement on their website and blame economic and personal factors for the decision which will see the London Road site close at the end of next February.

It read, “WasabiSabi Japanese Bar and Restaurant has been open for 19 years since 2004. We would like to thank you, all valued customers. We have decided to close the restaurant next year, 2023, end of February, once again thank you for all your support.”

Wasabi Sabi on London Road, Sheffield, has announced its closure at the end of February 2023

They added on their Facebook page: “Due to economic and personal issues, we are confirmed to close next year, end of February. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Messages appeared supporting the location.

One said: “It’s so sad to hear. However, fully support your decision. I wish you all the best for the future. I’m coming to visit before the last day

Another added: “Very sad to hear this, it was every year for my birthday and I’ve always been absolutely amazing.

“Thank you for the amazing food and we will definitely be booking soon for the last few times to support you before you leave.

Another said: “We will miss you when you close. Wishing you all the best.”

One said: “Noooooo, I have two favorite restaurants – yourselves and mussels and crab. They closed a few months ago. I’ve celebrated my birthday there for the last 19 years and my children have grown up eating here, they have had many birthdays here too.
