Uddo is the name of a new Japanese restaurant that opened at the Epic Sana Algarve hotel in Albufeira on Friday July 30, promising to become a favorite among Asian food lovers in the Algarve.
The menu was developed by chef and sushiman Dhiego Silva, who aims to offer his guests a “memorable experience” and “total freedom of choice”.
By combining the freshness of Algarve produce and Japanese cooking techniques, Silva hopes to create something truly unique.
The restaurant is described as a modern take on the Izakaya concept, a Japanese word meaning “place to have a drink.”
Toro Tataki and almond puree, scallops with ponzo moscatel or okonomiyaki with king crab are just a few of the signature dishes on the menu, which also offers a range of sushi and sashimi and other Japanese classics.
Meals can be accompanied by traditional Japanese drinks such as sake, sochu, Japanese beer and Japanese whiskey, or by one of the restaurant’s signature cocktails.
The restaurant’s decoration is inspired by its name (Uddo means “wood” in Japanese) and aims to create “an elegant and relaxed atmosphere inspired by Japanese culture“.
The restaurant is open from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. It closes on Tuesday. Due to Covid-19 social distancing rules, the capacity of the resort’s a la carte restaurants is limited. Reservations must be booked in advance.
